Personnel are instructed in the use of their personnel safety equipment, and are told that the none use of it while working on site will result in personnel fines and warning letters. On being assigned to a client, personnel are required to attend an initial safety orientation course, and many sites have a weekly safety meeting. Persons who are working in Doha for the first time are warned about the dangerous of dehydration, they are told to drink water regularly and that de-hydration tablets are available during high temperature periods. (We have tablets in our camp which we supply to our leadsmen or foreman, incase none are available on site). Protective Clothing: Personnel are provided with the following standard safety equipments.
Special equipments e.g. Climbing Safety belts, welding helmets etc. are supplied by clients. Fire Safety: Personnel are not allowed to have cookers or other electrical appliances in their rooms. Any fitting lights plugs or Ac’s that are suspected of having false should be reported to the camp boss who will rectify any defected appliances with our maintenance team. Personnel when assigned accommodation by the camp boss will be advised to where the nearest fire extinguishers are situated. If a fire is detected at any time the alarm should be raised and emergency extinguishers will be used. The camp boss should be informed and a report will be forwarded to administration, who will further investigate and file a fire report. All kitchen facilities will be inspected daily (exp. Worn gas connections defects will be reported, etc.). To prevent fire, all personnel will be made aware of the dangerous of such event and all must know the position of fire extinguishers. (Persons leaving camp must be booked out by a dispatcher or gate guard.) |

On entering the company, personnel are given instructions on their trade, or employment roll. In the cases of hands-on workers who are awaiting postings, employees will spend time on trade training. The day starts with a 30 to 45 min. PT session, then the personnel with little or no English language, have to attend classes for approx. one hour per day prior to trade training. Personnel recovering from sickness or injury: The company nurse monitors personnel recovering from sickness or injury, and supervises any remedial exercise or meditation. Hospital and nurse reports are submitted to the management, and person should normally be reintroduced to the work force on light duties for a period of time prior to resuming their normal duties. Camp Hygiene: Due to the nature of our work, personnel are moving out and in the camp on regular bases. These personnel could carry infections and pests, where hygiene preventative measure must be implemented. Our toilets, kitchen and accommodation require regular sanitation where a daily program is set for it. The accommodation is fogged weekly while the camp exterior is fogged as required, depending on the insect present. Serious Sickness or Injury: Persons suffering from the above must be monitored by the reports issued by Clinic or hospital they have been treated by. Copy of these reports should be sent by personnel Dept. to GOSI, and the patient will have regular interviews by service staff. The progress of the treatment should indicate that improvement is being achieved, or a second medical opinion is required. Consideration for sick leave will be considered when recovery is deemed to be a time factor only. |

To ensure maximum efficiency this company must have a healthy and fit work force to achieve this end. The company insists on strict medical inspection for all employees prior to employment as well as evaluation and management of the employees during this contract
Daily Monitoring
Personnel reporting sick or sick Parade (6 am) are assessed by the duty Nurse and treated or referred to clinic or hospitals. Any person or persons reporting sick at other times through accident or other caused are treated as emergency cases and actioned as deemed necessary. The nurse normally accompanies personnel to clinics and hospital and submits a report in addition to the one from the consulting body. Personnel unable to carry out or are reluctant to carry out the normal 6.30 P.T. Period in the camp is referred to the nurse then to the doctor for medical check up. This is to identify personnel with health problem that he is concealing. (The 6.30 PT period is compulsory for personnel who are not assigned to clients or other duties. The period is between 30 and 45 minutes before craft or languages training starts
Reports from Clients : Reports received from clients regarding sick or injured personnel are informed to:
On receipt of such information the receiving body either sends transport for the person and have him sent to the Clinic or hospital. If the cause is an accident, Personnel (Dept.) should be informed to activate a government relation’s person to check with hospitals and police. The coordinator should contact the Client and get a copy of the accident report. He forwards this to personnel who will notify GOSI as required. On some occasion reports on accidents will be reported to Personnel, after the person has been submitted to hospital. Personnel then send Government relations to the hospital and inform a coordinator to follow up on the accident report. In the case of road accidents the report may go to any of the above, and in these cases government relations should be informed |
